North American Lutheran Church (NALC)

The North American Lutheran Church (NALC) was established in 2010 by congregations departing the ELCA over concerns of biblical authority and social issues. The NALC describes itself as “Christ-centered, mission-driven, traditionally grounded, and congregationally focused.” It blends Lutheran liturgical tradition with a strong emphasis on biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism. Though smaller than the ELCA and LCMS, the NALC continues to grow among congregations seeking a middle ground between traditional and modern expressions of Lutheran faith.
